Meeting minutes status:
Jane Daniels, President called the meeting to oder at 7:30
The minutees of the meetings February 14, 2018 and March 14, 2018 were accepted. Jane noted that according to Mail Chimp the March meeting announcement was mailed, but the power failures must have affected people getting it. She, like others, did not receive it.
Jane Daniels reported for Jim Brosnan that the $845.61 in the bank as of April 10, 2018 reflects the last payment for the six small signs as part of the National Heritage Grant from the Hudson River Valley.
It was reported that Bob Guarino, Park Manager suffered a stroke. Jane is to send a card.

Discussion - Moving FoFDR Forward - What can we do to keep FoFDR viable
The bylaws have term limits and some board members will need to step down for a year. While the bylaws have that restriction to keep people from staying on the board too long, FoFDR does not have the band width of potential board members.
Everyone present realized that the group might not survive. Getting people interested in activities and raising money is a problem because of the two user groups. What enhancements FoFDR can provide need to be compatible to both groups. With the park manager out for an undetermined time, there is no way of getting his input for possible enhancements.
Pam Lupfer offered to look into having a plaque on a wooden post stating that we provided the wild flowers. She also suggested other plantings that could take care of themselves.
Mark Kotkin suggested we get a newspaper article about what we are doing as a way of increasing awareness.
Activities for 2018
- I Love My Park Day May 5th - Trail Maintenance Swimming Pool Parking Lot 9:30-12; Mark asked for volunteers to help that day. It was decided that if there was a poor showing, we would not do it the next year.
- Hike through History - Saturday June 17th 10-12 Dianne Press said the hike would visit all of the interpretive signs and would be under 3 miles.
- National Trails Day - Saturday June 2nd - The decision was to join Yorktown Trail Town in their efforts to build the Mohansic Trailway.
Upcoming meetings Wednesday, May 9 – All meetings are at 7:30 pm in the FDR Park Office
