President Jane Daniels called the meeting to order at 7:40 p.m.
Minutes - The minutes for the February meeting were accepted.
Financial Report - Dave Rocco reported a balance of $583.75
Manager’s Report – Brian Strasavich
Personnel from Peoples Island visited the park and agreed the CCC has built several structures in the park.
Bylaws -Jane Daniels reported that she needs to finalize our by-laws so we can complete 501 ( c ) 3 incorporation. Most of the meeting was spent clarifying issues which would prevent the incorporation from being accepted. The following is a summary of our progress:
-The board of director size is to be 6-15.
-The term of office is to be 2 years.
-The term limits is set to be 4 years.
-The removal of a board member can be by majority of board, or majority present, if a board member is absent for 3 consecutive meetings.
-There will be no compensation for any board member.
-The fiscal year is the calendar year.
-A Conflict of Interest policy will be sent via e-mail to all in attendance.
- There will be a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
-The number of board meetings will be a minimum of 4 per year (quarterly).
-Elections will take place in the first quarter of the year.
-Notice of a meeting will be sent out a minimum of 7 days in advance of the meeting.
-A vote of whether members should pay dues resulted in a 9 in favor and 1 opposed.
-A vote of whether any member can vote resulted in 6 in favor, 3 opposed and 1 abstained. This matter will be revisited in 6 months further addressing voting qualifications.
FDR Logo Contest - Janice Turner has contacted 11 colleges for the design of the fofdr logo, the deadline is April 21, 2013.
Anwer Qureishi has completed the “Everyone Needs a Friend” flyer.
“Gone to the Dogs” event report was postponed until the next meeting.
Dianne Press will be giving a talk to the Yorktown Historical Society on April 18, 2013.
-A memorial bench for deceased member Oliver Wells was discussed. Prices will be researched.
