Manager’s Minute – Brian Strasavich

  • The park has been plagued with water line breaks which causes comfort stations to be closed
  • Revenue is down ~$30k due in part with the rainy weather in July and pool closures
  • For next year, he would like to have fun things at the park to give other reasons to come. Ideas include having entertainment such a music at the pool or street performers.
  • The pool was closed after Labor Day. The water was de-chlorinated and returned to the lake
  • A corporate day of service resulted in rocks placed on top of geotextile under the fishing pier.

The Support Connection has enthusiastically welcomed our booth at their event on October 7. Dianne Press and the event chair are in contact with details. Charlie Castronvo will assist Dianne using the event box, now is at the office. Kathy Quinn executive director of the Support Connection suggested we have a door prize to collect names. The video camera that Brian received as a premium from Staples will be  used as a prize.

History of the Park

Dianne is continuing to interview residents who grew up here during the 1930s and 1940s. Before reporting back to the group, she tries to get three sources as verification. Three CCC barracks remained through the 1950s and until they burned down were used for square dances and wedding receptions.

Meeting adjourned at 9 pm.

Respectively submitted,

Jane Daniels, Secretary
