Jane Daniels, President called the meeting to order at 7:30 pm. 

The minutes of the August 2017 meeting were accepted

Announcements - Jane said the Anwer Quieishi has asked for a leave of absence until December. John Robinson agreed to posting his photos on Facebook. Jane will contact Anwer so that he can give John editing permission.

Financial Report – There is 3191.64 in the bank as of August 31, 2017. 

Park Manager’s Minute (Bob Guarino): The pool is closed for the season. Fall events start this coming weekend. Staff down to winter numbers with many working part time. erizon is running FIOS into the park at the toll booths at the Taconic, filter room pools, police and concessions. 

Rebekah Casino - Yorktown High School Civic Intern for Friends of FDR gave a short presentation about her video project, The Other Side of FDR State Park. she will be visiting the park and taking pictures and video. Jane will put her in contact with Bill Newman and the Disc Golfers 

  • Tree identification project - John Robinson reported that Rick Fisher, Dianne Press, Tait Johanson and he walked the Crom Pond Trail. Tait identified trees that could be tagged. Jane reported that she has ordered 17 tags which should be in later in the week. 
  • Mark Kotkin -
    • A pedestrian button and zebra stripes at the intersection of Strang Blvd & Route 202. He has heard back from DOT
    • Program at the Hart Library November 29
  • Shed - Jane reported for Charlie that the shed will need to be painted. 
  • Interpretive signs - Dianne Press said that when the Spanish translation is done, the layout for the signs will be sent to be made.

  • Need to coordinate with more groups

 Upcoming events

  • Support Connection Walk October ; Dainne and Charlie will be hosting our booth. Jane will supply the display. 
  • Yorktown Street Fair Sunday October 8; Jane asked for volunteers to help. John said he would come for a 2 hour shift. She will contact others who are not at the meeting to see if they can help. 

Jane will be away in November, asked if we wanted a meeting and if so who would run it. The answer was it was not necessary.
